As well as packaged ski holidays with flights and airport transfers included, we also offer a fine selection of independent ski chalets. These properties are available on an ‘accommodation-only’ basis – leaving you free to arrange the train, flights, or car hire separately. This way, you can make your own way to the Alps in the manner than works best for you and your group.
There is a wonderful range of independent chalet companies across the Alps. Some companies manage only one or two chalets, while others run a collection of different properties – sometimes spread over one or two different resorts. These smaller chalet companies often specialise in specific areas of the chalet holiday experience, such as cuisine, childcare or wellness.
The biggest plus-point of booking an independent ski chalet over a packaged ski holiday is that independent companies pride themselves on offering a closer, more bespoke service compared to the large tour operators. It’s a little more effort organising the different parts of your holiday separately, but many people prefer it.
However you look at it, though, it’s good to have the flexibility to book your ski holiday your way – and we’re happy to help you with that. Here’s a look at a few of our favourite independent ski chalets, in resorts which work particularly well for groups of friends and families alike.
The luxury chalet Le Chardon in Val d’Isere sits elegantly on the Solaise Mountain, with spectacular views of the Manchet Valley and the Vanoise National Park. There’s a dedicated team of chalet staff on hand throughout your stay, plus an in-resort driver service.
