The World Ski Awards is an annual red carpet event, showcasing and awarding the ski industry’s very finest hospitality brands. Ski resorts, hotels, chalets, tour operators, travel agencies, and more from across the world feature throughout the 3-day event – with a special nod to those leaders and innovators who have contributed the most to the continued success of the winter sports industry as a whole.

It’s the only event during which international ski industry leaders join together to share knowledge, innovation and details of best-practise on a global level. This year was the 7th in the event’s history, taking place in the 5* A-ROSA spa resort in the traditional and beautiful Alpine town of Kitzbühel in Austria. You can take a look at the full roundup of 2019’s runners up and winners across all the categories on the World Ski Awards’ 2019 winners page.

The World's Best Ski Chalet 2019

In the Best Ski Chalets award, nominees came from far-flung destinations including New Zealand, Slovenia, Germany, Canada, Andorra, Austria, Japan and Norway – but there could be only one winner. Top prize went to the opulent chalet Les Anges in Zermatt. Chalet Les Anges welcomes 14 guests in the height of luxury, with three floors of panoramic windows offering breathtaking views over Zermatt to the world-famous peak of the Matterhorn. Features include sauna, hammam, relaxation area and massage room. Outside the chalet, the 3-metre heated plunge pool is the perfect spot to relax with a glass of Champagne in hand. It’s worth noting that not only did the Les Anges scoop the coveted World's Best Ski Chalet award for this year, but it also picked up the gong for Switzerland's Best Ski Chalet 2019.
