Gotzens (in Austria) is wonderfully close to Innsbruck (just 7km) making it ideal for combining a ski holiday with some sightseeing. The resort is at a height of 870m, but you can reach up to 2100m whilst exploring the ski areas. Gotzens has its own local ski area, the Muttereralm as well as being part of the Pfriemeskofl ski area and within the 295km Olympia SkiWorld ski area. You can also get to Azams which is just 20mins away on the free ski bus. The resort offers traditional Tyrolean charm, and is a real cultural gem.
