Considered by many to be the world's premier ski resort, Val d'Isθre (known simply as just 'Val' to the locals) is hard to fault, offering some of the best skiing anywhere together with exciting and lively aprθs ski.

The heart of Val d'Isθre dates back to the 13th century, complementing its higher, more futuristic linked neighbour, Tignes. Between the two areas (known as l'Espace Killy), there are around 97 ski-lifts whisking you in all directions up to heights of over 3450m (11,340ft), including the glacier on the Grande Motte, guaranteeing excellent snow.

There is an excellent mix of steep slopes (including the famous black run 'Face') wide bowls, exiting tree runs and the unmissible 'Secret Valley' which snakes its way through a ravine to La Daille.

La Daille, with a good selection of accommodation is at the lower end of the valley and the hamlet of Le Fornet lies 2km out of the main town at the top end of the valley.
